Prof. Prashant Desai graduated from the Film & television Institute of India (FTII) in Cinema with specialization in Cinematography in 1982. Since then he has worked in the industry in various capacities in Cinematography, screenplay writing, Production and Direction. He has taught at FTII, Pune and NID, Ahmedabad. He was the HOD (Film & Video) at MIT Institute of Design, Pune and Xavier Institute of Communication, Mumbai. He teaches at SNDT, Mumbai, regularly since 1996. He has also taught at FLAME and MRID (Maharaja Ranjit Singh Gaekwad Institute of Design, Baroda) His Filmmaking workshops are highly appreciated by the participants. He is also a partner at Living Bridge.
Anjum Rajabali is one of India’s best known screenwriters, with over ten feature film credits including Aarakshan, Raajneeti, The Legend of Bhagat Singh and Ghulam. He wrote his first film Drohkaal in 1992, in collaboration with director Govind Nihalani. He’s mentored writers at many international script labs and has also been a script doctor and consultant to several well-known films. In 2004, he designed the Course in Screenplay Writing at FTII and in 2006 he set up the Screenwriting department at Whistling Woods, Mumbai. Anjum holds a Masters' Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Pune.
Lalit Deshmukh is a professional fine art photographer based in Pune, India. Lalit is very passionate about nature, where he draws much of his inspiration for photography. He enjoys capturing special moments in nature and invoking emotions via compositions and light.
Lalit has spent more than 10 years exploring and photographing western United States including the Rocky mountains, Colorado plateau as well as Pacific coast and surrounding volcanic region. He has presented his work in various organizations in USA and India, He has also delivered lectures and workshops in corporates like TCS, Infosys, Persistent systems and other corporate organizations. He conducts various photography tours across India including wildlife, seascapes, mountain region like Kanha, Kokan and Ladakh.
He now stays in India and is fully committed to his passion of photography and social issues.
Chetan Joshi is a Pune based author with a flair for fiction from the absurd to stark raving reality. His recently published graphic book Animal Palette was received very well at the Jaipur Literature Festival 2012 and was nominated for Best Book and Best Writer at Comic Con 2012... His animation film Gul Bakavali is to be released shortly. CockTale Carnival, his next collection of stories is soon to be published.
He has been trained by the British Council to teach creative writing. Occasionally he conducts writing workshops either independently or with the British Library. Currently he is writing a novel – The Seven Deadly Skins and has just completed a Hindi film. His short stint with detective serial CID too was an interesting phase. He is the editorial director of LiTreasure Publishers. Chetan has penned the hindi feature film 'Ek Aur Saraab' which was highly appreciated.
Kalyani Sardesai is a Pune-based freelance journalist and copywriter. With over fifteen years of experience in assorted media, she has worked for National dailies like The Indian Express, DNA and the Times of India, and is currently writing for the business magazine Corporate Citizen, and the website Pinksworth.com. Her academic qualifications list a gold medal in the Bachelors of Communication and Journalism exam from the Department of Communication and Journalism, University of Pune, followed by an MA in English Literature from Nowrosjee Wadia College (in which she topped her college.) She also has a PG Diploma in Advertising from the Institute of Communication Management, Bangalore, besides a diploma in Public Speaking from the Institute of Public Speaking, Pune, and another BA degree with Eco Honours. She is currently working on her first book, apart from teaching creative and feature writing.
Acharya Lalit Parimoo in known for his performances as a major actor and has been highly appreciated for his varied roles in TV Serials like; Maila Anchal, Tumhare Liye, Abhi Nahin, Faasle, Kalakar, Misaal, Lakshya, Gaatha, Shaktimaan, Noorjahan, Tajasvini, Intequam, Sparsh Ek Ahsas, Farz, Intezaar Aur Sahi, Bazaar, Apna Apna Aasmaan, Saaya, Viraat, Kangan, Kora Kaagaz, Apnapan, Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam, Basera, Mulk, Shakalaqa Boom Boom, C.I.D. and many more… He has also done roles in Hindi movies like Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa, Agent Vinod etc. He successfully essayed the role of DCP Parvez in Vishal Bharadwaj’s Shahid Kapoor starrer ‘Haider’. He has authored a book in Hindi “Main Manushya Hun” which has been launched in Mumbai. He has so far appeared in over forty stage plays,three hundred radio plays and more than sixty Television Serials & Films. Acharya Lalit Parimoo has been imparting in-depth training since past 5 years to budding actors.
Mr. Ashish Shah has over 21 years of extensive experience in the areas of consultation in IT, education, counselling and training. For the last 11 years Ashish has been specialising in Graphology and has been using this scientific tool to help people for their professional as well as personal development. He regularly conducts Graphology workshops in Pune, Ahmedabad, Secunderabad and Mumbai. He has counselled, trained and coached more than 3000 people till date. Ashish is a post-graduate in IT from University of Pune. He was associated with Symbiosis as an educationist and Dy. Director. He has also worked with Siemens, Mumbai where he was solely responsible for L&D functions.
Ms. Aboli Thosar is a photographer and educator with Impressions Photography Workshops and Expeditions. She has been a software professional for more than 8 years. Her passion for traveling to nature hotspots as well as birds' life and behavior drew her to photography. Currently Aboli manages corporate and business relationships at Impressions and teaches photography in classroom as well as on field trips.
Mr. Mayur Desale is a Wildlife and Birds photographer who enjoys capturing in jungles, streams and mountains. He is also an avid adventurer and loves exploring the rugged cliffs of Sahyadri.
Mayur currently covers photographing various events. He delivers and assists at photography workshops and lead photo tours held by Lalit Deshmukh Photography.
Ms. Saee Bhurke is a nature photographer and loves creating fine art images. Saee assists and delivers photography workshops and lead photo tours under Lalit Deshmukh Photography.
As an artist by nature Saee also enjoys creating media presentations and documentaries, where she can collaborate many art forms. She is currently holding position of content manager for Impressions Media.(IMPRESSIONS photography workshops & expeditions)
Ashwini Malik is a screenwriting teacher, screenwriter and independent filmmaker. After graduating from FTII, Pune in 1994, he wrote and directed several television shows. His first feature film, Clever & Lonely (2002), was screened at many film festivals. He teaches screenwriting at Whistling Woods International, Mumbai, and mentors regularly at workshops in India and abroad. As a writer, he has contributed to films like I Am, Sorry Bhai and Road, Movie. Monophobia, his new film as director, is currently showing at film festivals. He writes essays on screenwriting on his blog – screenwritingarguments.blogspot.in.
John Mathew Matthan is well known as the Writer, Director and Producer of the blockbuster movie ‘Sarfarosh’.
John started his career as an assistant director to Govind Nihalani on ‘Aakrosh’ and in the epic movie ‘Gandhi’, directed by Sir Richard Attenborough after a long career in the advertising world. He later made ‘Shikhar’ and ‘A New Love Ishtory’.
Matthan has also been the chairman of the non-feature film section of the National Film Awards and is a keen follower of the serious cinema movement in the country.
Sriram Raghavan has a diploma in direction from FTII Pune, and is the writer-director of several memorable films including Johnny Gaddar, Ek Hasina Thi, Agent Vinod and Badlapur. He generously mentors young writers informally, as well through fellowship programmes.
Dilip Ghosh is the director of the latest action film 'Commando'. An alumni of FTII and a passionate filmmaker. He has made numerous ad films and documentaries. He conducts workshops regularly and teaches at FTII, MIT, NID and other prestigious institutions across India.
Abbas Tyrewala is one of Hindi cinema's more successful screenwriters with films like Maqbool, Main Hoon Na, Munnabhai MBBS to his credit. He turned director with Jaane Tu.. which became a rage with youngsters.
Onir is an internationally acclaimed filmmaker whose debut feature was the groundbreaking My Brother… Nikhil (2004), India’s first mainstream film to address the issue of homosexuality. He continued his journey as a filmmaker with Bas Ek Pal (2006) and Sorry Bhai! (2008). In 2009, Onir started the unique citizen funded film project called I AM. Once again dealing with issues that have never been addressed by mainstream Hindi cinema, I AM (2011) is probably the first and largest crowd sourced film through social network in India. Released to wide critical acclaim, I AM won the Best Hindi Feature film National Award.
Rajan Mangwaani is extremely talented and technically proficient in the field of digital editing. He is a master of Final Cut Pro (FCP). Rajan has edited and directed numerous ad films and documentaries.His recently edited feature film 'Dreams Hopes Bollywood' has won various festival awards. Mahesh Digrajkar is a successful professional cinematographer and teaches cinematography at Film and Television Institue of India, Pune (FTII) and several other Mass Comm. institutions like Symbiosis etc.
Vikas Sharma is a young professional screenwriter, and a full-time faculty of screenwriting at Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. He also graduated from FTII specialising in scriptwriting.
Saket Chaudhary is the writer-director of the hugely successful Pyaar Ke Side Effects and the sequel, Shaadi Ke Side Effects starring Vidya Balan and Farhan Akhtar. He is a regular feature at screenwriting workshops and seminars, and is an active member of FWA.
Shridhar Raghavan is one of India’s more prolific scriptwriters with films like Khakhee, Bluffmaster and Dum Maaro Dum, and hundreds of episodes ofCID, Aahat, and many other successful TV serials to his credit. He teaches regularly at FTII and WWI, and actively mentors beginners in the field.
Bhupali Tamboli-Sawant a bharatanatyam and kathak exponent as well as a guru and choreographer.Hv established dance institute by the name'JHANAK NRITYA ACADEMY'in 1996 in pune and in 2000 in mumbai. She also assists Acharya Lalit Parimoo.
Akshat Verma is a writer and director, known for Delhi Belly (2011), The Ode (2008) and Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu (2012).
Arvind Mittal has over 20 years of experience as a Theatre Actor/Trainer/ Presenter/ Writer/ Director.
He has been associated with London Fringe Theatre Festival (Canada), Deccan Herald Theatre Festival (Bangalore), A.P. Theatre Festival (Hyderabad).
He holds a graduate degree in Hotel Management and a post Graduate degree in Public relations and Advertising. He has been associated with various institutions, corporates, hotels and resorts across India, in the capacity of trainer in the field of Personality Development, Presentation skills, Personal Branding and Story telling.
B. S. N. Swamy has been an executive producer and line producer for a number of national & international projects including feature films and TV serials. He teaches at FTII and MITID as a visiting faculty.
Rajesh Parmar – A very senior and admired film editor having won two national awards in Editing for Non-Feature films as Best Editor for the films Sanchari (1991) and Colours of Absence (1993). Both films directed by Arun Khopkar. . He is an FTII alumnus and has been sharing his expertize at various film institutes.
Rajesh Bhatia is an FTII Graduate with M.A. in Theatre. He has been teaching film direction, film production and editing at various film institutes of India. Mr. Bhatia has worked as a director, producer, editor of TV, documentaries, TVCs & AVs.
Arch. Punita Mehta a graduate of C.E.P.T, Ahmedabad and Masters in Urban Design from Canberra, Australia. Currently, full-time faculty at Dept. of Arch., faculty of technology at M.S. University, Vadodara. She has taught at a number of institutes in Australia and India. She has a broad exposure and is widely travelled. She also has a number of significant architectural projects to her credit.
